I heart NY Comic-Con

One of the East Coast's biggest and most exciting pop culture conventions has come to an end; NY Comic-Con. Not to be confused with San Diego’s identically named but nevertheless unaffiliated Comic Con –- the NY variety brought its own flavor. Afterall, we New Yorkers can pride ourselves as being the birthplace of comic books.

So a recap - a few of us at CNN got to hit the scene and geek out in home made costumes. We spent hours talking to artists, playing video games, and trying to get through tight spaces in ridiculous costume.

Some of the highlights included: speaking with one of my favorite illustrators Sam Brown of ExplodingDog.com, discussing jacking up Washington with the original Hulk Lou Ferrigno, dancing with Gumby onstage while playing a new Thriller Wii game, and chatting with Seth Green and Matt Seinrech of both Robot Chicken and ControlTV - who we will be showcasing in an upcoming feature on CNN.

I think the coolest news had to be the announcement of Stan Lee's new 'Stan Lee's 7' comic series that will have both web and TV components. He called it a "reality comic book" the first of its kind.

Costumes required - leave pride at door - good times.
