Tech the Halls!! CNN Style.

Part One of my comprehensive geeky gift guide finally showcased on-air! (Stay tuned to Part 2 tomorrow CNN 745pmET)

Here is the video link.

I have to preface by saying I spend a ton of time putting my gift guides together.  I have to thoroughly test out the products, or already own them for months, to be able to tout as a good purchase.

I dreamed about doing tech round-ups years ago on-air and promised I would do it justice if ever given the opportunity.  Now, years later, I still have a blast compiling, and my apartment additionally looks like Best Buy met a tornado!

As worn on-air:
Star Wars Holiday Yoda Hat ($12), /Spock Hat ($15),
Star Wars Force FX Lightsabers, $99,
This is an official replica with authentic sound effects digitally recorded from the movie.  Is it even nerdier of me to say it’s really durable?

E-cards are passé – there’s an app for that.
++ Apple Cards, $2.99, $4.99 (iPhone)
++ Postagram, $.99, $1.99 worldwide (iPhone and Android)
++ Sincerely, $1.69+ (iPhone and Android)

2.) MOPHIE JUICE PACKS ($34.95 - $99.95),
++ Juice pack plus (8 hours extra)
++ Juice pack air (6 hours extra)
++ Juice pack reserve
These come in 6 different colors.  The juice pack plus touts to nearly double your iPhone battery life.  Has a standby and charge button, 2.9 oz.  and showcases a status indicator light that will tell you how much juice it has left .
++ NINTENDO 3DS, $169.99 with Mario Kart7,, $39.99
++ DISNEYLAND ADVENTURES, Kinect for Xbox 360,, $49.99
4.) FREEHANDS GLOVES, $18-$80,
From knit to cashmere options, this is a softball gift idea for anyone with a smartphone or tablet.  You cant access the screen with gloves on.

With freehands, there are 2 different options you can get: the fingers that flip back (there’s little magnets in there holding the knitting down) or this one is super sleek … it has conductive tips so you don’t have to take your gloves off at all.

5.) BOMBATA TRAVEL BAG, $39-$49,
Great for iPad or any size laptop!  I get stopped all the time asking where I got my two bags.  Plus, comes with a shoulder strap.  Worth hunting down!
6.) SONOS PLAY3, $299,
This is my go-to way to listen to music in my apartment.  I have been using a bigger sonos for years (Play5) , and then they came out with this smaller option.  If you are looking for a good speaker with good sound, this pumps out some volume.  Plus, you can remotely control it from your smartphone, your computer or your iPad.  And, not only do you have access to your music library, you also have access to thousands of internet radio stations and podcasts.  Want to stream throughout the house? Get multiple Sonos and set up multiple zones linked together with a Sonos

++ AMAZON KINDLE, $109 (without ads),

Make sure to tune in to Part 2 on CNN tomorrow at 745pm and the blog post as well!
